You do not need to be afraid of your personal information getting out because Denver counseling assures you of confidentiality. You are also protected by the law regarding the confidentiality of communications between a psychotherapist and her client so there will be no information that will be divulged without your prior written permission.
But you should take note of the exceptions that are required by the law to maintain youre privacy. These exceptions include suspicion of child abuse, and elder abuse or dependant adult abuse. If such a case is noted by a therapist, he or she is binded to report it to the right authorities as soon as possible.
Likewise, if you are menacing to do serious physical harm to another person, your therapist will have to report you to the authorities. The therapist is required to report such cases to the police since they are required by the law to do so. The same is true if a client is threatening to harm her or himself. However, therapists from Denver counseling will make all efforts to work with the client in order to prevent any harm from happening. If the therapist is incapable to get the cooperation of the client, there may be more measures that can be taken.
